Performing Virtually

Happy New Year and welcome to 2024!

2023 was amazing.  Performing virtually has become a way of life for me since the pandemic and I am enjoying doing it.  Last week,  I brought Rosa Park's story back to life virtually with the Genesee
District Library. The comments were very good especially since many people  have no idea that Black people in Alabama and Mississippi had to pass a literacy test in order to register to vote!  I am so glad I was able to bring her story to life again through my storytelling. This week, I will be performing African and African American Folktales for virtual school students.  Next week the life of Harriet Tubman will grace the screens of more virtual schools.  I do miss in person performances but for now this works for me.  Life is good!

I can't believe I have not posted on this blog in a couple of  years! Well, I am back!!  Life is good and I have been keeping myself quite busy. I have earned another Masters Degree and this one is in Art Education with a concentration in Art Therapy!  It made me really think about how photography has always been art therapy for me! I will continue to post my photographs on my blog along with some of my thoughts and feelings behind them! ENJOY!

Life Through photography

This has been a crazy year! But through all, I continue to smile and stretch my creative ventures! I have enjoyed creating art quilts but more than anything else sees, I have enjoyed teaching my elementary students how to design, create and sew art quilts!  My photography therapy has also been a blessing for me this year as a creative outlet! The best is yet to come!

Love

How time flies when you're having fun.  I will be shooting and posting pictures of my journey of a rose, a metaphor for my life's journey thru my flowers.  Enjoy!

What an awesome life my son has had. Being in the music business is not the easiest job to have but for some it is the most gratifying.  Who would have ever thought managing a hip hop artist would get you to the White House to perform for and shake hands with the first African American President of the United States of America.

Me and Anthony Anderson

After shooting pictures of attendees at the Anthony Anderson, Kem and Patti LaBelle and Ron Isley Christmas concert, I was able to get a photo opp with Anthony Anderson!!
I spent hours trying to shoot a picture of a bee on a flower. I finally settled for a fly!! Sometimes you have to take what you can get until what you want comes along. The fly even posed for me!
Time flies when you're having fun!! Since I last posted on my blog, I have earned my second Masters Degree! This one is in Art Education with a concentration in Art Therapy from Wayne State University. I will continue to post my photographs but with a few thoughts of what is behind them! ENJOY!
